The public was astonished to see a piano in the middle of the mountains, a double bass among the pines, clarinets and violins next to the rocks and Mara’s silhouette standing out with the sea in the background. It was a concert to remember. The songs fascinated the public, who made the most of them seeking the artists’ complicity. Artaica presented cants d’estil and mixtures of traditional rhythms among great staging. All expectations were met. Nobody wanted to miss this performance, not even the clouds -- the warm afternoon sun turned to a heavy storm that marked the end of Sant Llorenç’s Day. Carles Gimeno. Las Provincias.
Actually, Artaica’s proposal is very interesting. A fusion of Mediterranean tradition, particularly valencian, played over charming swing and jazz rhythms. At some point during the performance we got the impression of listening to one version -- without giving any negative connotation to the word version -- a valencian version of Madredeus. Artaica is tradition. Miquel Cornellà / Tres de quatre
Artaica is a valencian group of traditional music that are guardians for the cult of musical beauty. They communicate tact, gentleness and very good manners. It is a band with a solid artistic background, with a flavour of Mediterranean, flamenco, improvisation and jazz, an explosive mixture very pleasant to the senses. The band is composed of piano, double bass, clarinet and a great and sensitive feminine voice, Mara Aranda, which travels the cultural corners of our shores and our tradition. A sensitive and professional offering, able to capture each and every one of the persons present at the concert. Zeus Díaz Cid / Tres de quatre
Artaica reflects in a different way the inherited legacy of our ancestors, but with a contemporary design. Levante EMV
